Terms, Scope & Disclaimer

Clear boundaries for safe, compliant use of RapidRAMS.

1. Nature of the Service

RapidRAMS is a digital system that generates Risk Assessment & Method Statement (RAMS) documentation based solely on information provided by the user.

RapidRAMS does not carry out site inspections, does not assess site conditions, and does not exercise professional judgement beyond the structured information submitted by the user. The service is intended to support routine planning of non-specialist construction, maintenance, and facilities management activities within the United Kingdom.

2. Scope of Use

RapidRAMS is designed for use only where risks can be adequately identified and controlled using structured inputs and standard control measures.

The system supports routine activities such as general maintenance, decorating, installation works, use of access equipment, and low-risk electrical or mechanical tasks where systems are isolated and appropriate competence is in place.

Note: RapidRAMS is not intended for specialist, high-risk, or permit-controlled activities that require bespoke safety planning, engineering judgement, or specialist competence.

3. Activities Outside Scope

RapidRAMS does not support, and will not generate RAMS for, activities including but not limited to:

  • Asbestos removal or disturbance
  • Structural demolition
  • Erecting, altering, or dismantling fixed scaffolding
  • Confined space entry
  • High-voltage or live electrical work
  • Live gas installations or pipework
  • Crane operations or complex lifting activities
  • Work on fragile roofs or surfaces
  • Deep excavations
  • Activities requiring specialist permits or engineered temporary works

Where such activities are identified, RapidRAMS will decline to generate documentation.

4. Declined Jobs

Where RapidRAMS declines to generate RAMS, this decision is intentional and forms part of the system’s safety controls.

A declined job indicates that the task falls outside the scope of a routine RAMS and requires specialist planning, permits, or professional input. Declining a job does not imply that the task is unsafe to carry out, but that it cannot be appropriately assessed or documented using this system.

5. User Responsibilities

The user remains fully responsible for:

  • Ensuring all information submitted is accurate, complete, and truthful
  • Confirming that all operatives are trained, competent, and authorised to carry out the work
  • Complying with all applicable legislation, site rules, permits, and contractual requirements
  • Holding valid and appropriate insurance
  • Monitoring site conditions and stopping work if circumstances change

RapidRAMS does not replace site supervision, permits to work, or specialist safety advice where required.

6. Use and Reliance on Generated RAMS

RAMS generated by RapidRAMS are based entirely on the information provided at the time of submission. The suitability of the generated RAMS depends on the accuracy and completeness of that information and the continued validity of site conditions.

The user must review the generated RAMS before use and must not rely on them where conditions differ from those described or where additional hazards are present.

7. No Transfer of Legal Duty

Use of RapidRAMS does not transfer or reduce any legal duties held by the user under UK health and safety legislation, including duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 or the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

All legal responsibility for planning, supervision, and safe execution of work remains with the contractor undertaking the work.

8. Limitation of Representation

RapidRAMS does not certify, approve, or guarantee that any work is safe, compliant, or acceptable to a particular site, client, or principal contractor.

The system provides structured documentation only and does not make representations about outcomes, site conditions, or third-party acceptance.
